I'm Hot...Can I Vent?!?!

I am very ANGRY right now!!!

So I joined a board recently, after a very persuasive speech about how my opinion is "very vital to the growth of the establishment" I'm involved in; and how they needed a "fresh perspective from the standpoint of a young adult" or whatever (mind you, the youngest person on this panel is 45).

And I'm like, "sure okay yeah sounds good. This place is stuffy as f*** anyways."

So I join this panel and attend a meeting, and I raise up an idea to contribute to the board and I'm immediately written off! So I try again and they don't even listen to me and it's freaking infuriating! But a more seasoned member can say the exact freaking thing and that shit counts as something?!?! Like what the hell??

I may not be "grown", but I am 20 years old, and what I have to say is just as important as the woman next to me who is honestly one more birthday cake away from the grave!! But they've decided to treat me like a child.

And then I bring it up to the chair, and this son of a bitch has the audacity to say, "I'm sorry you feel this way, but honestly you were invited onto the board by requirement."

Wth requirement is this?!?! And I thought our society has progressed since the days of "you oughtta be seen and not heard."

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS BULL CRAP?!?!?! Am I the only one that is sees this or do you guys have similar experiences???
