First, I look at it logically. Either I'll read my previous chapter and think about where the next logical place is (ie if one moment they're at a coffee shop and then next week they go on a cruise, I might talk about the week long anticipation and packing and boarding, but not the cruise). Or I'll have a rough idea about where I want it to go and decide from there (they're at the mall but somebody dies. Where and what would make sense in the chapter before somebody dies? Probably a sketchy dude chasing them into a sketchy alley lol)
Or I'll decide "filler chapter it is!" and just churn out some piece of shit till I feel comfortable continuing the plot. Hopefully this makes a little sense.

Lmao very good. I have some pretty heavy shit going on in one of my stories and I'm like how do I even go from here?! I may have to pop a few fillers in until I come up with something brilliant (in my mind at least.) Thanks for the feedback dear!
@tkstylist
No problem :D I'm shit at updating but when I do get around to it it's easiest for me to look at it step by step in a way that makes sense. I'm about to destroy half the characters I have in Love Bites ;P so I know the feels

i haven't hit this but when my friends do - they ask me to read their chapters and give them like a guide or suggestion to where the story could possibly go. i don't have to be in detail or anything, just a vague push and they usually take it from there. perhaps you could get someone to read the part you're stuck on and suggest something?
How do you guys get over writers block? What about if you stumble into a wall that you didn't mean to put in your story? Any advice?
