Childhood fears

I'm finally going to get around to that new story I keep kicking around (with the mannequins, the band crossover, blah blah blah). It takes place in an amusement park, so I want to know...

What was your biggest childhood fear? :D Mine included mannequins (and still does) and finding something or someONE where I shouldn't (ie some monster under the bed or a creeper in the hall closet)

Pennywise the clown still gives me nightmares....I haven't been to a circus since.

I also hated men in costume. I used to hide from Chuck E. Cheese and cry until my mom found me.

The ideas this just gave me are terrifying lol thank you :D Chuck E Cheese seems traumatizing (I never went-I think my childhood got cheated)

standing in corners.
i had a baby sitter who let us watch the grudge and then when we were bad would put us in the bathroom to face a corner with the light off.

um, but, i do this thing where i'm convinced because of a story my dad told me when i was younger that we had a stranger hiding the cupboards that's going to come out and kill us one night.

and dolls; any kind of dolls scare the freak out of me.

My parents had The Box (we're kind of a dark humoured family) where they'd supposedly put the "bad children". Obviously my brother and I knew it was fake even when we were little because they'd joke about clones and stuff but at the same time it's weird when your parents say stuff like that to you lol

i never had a problem with dolls. I collect porcelain ones (currently in my room on display I have Sasha who's Russian, Addie who's Irish, charolette who's French, and Aedus who's Scottish) and I was a huuuuge Barbie girl. But mannequins always freaked me out O.o like two months ago I went to Maurice's and freaked out because they moved stuff around including the mannequins so they'd be in places I didn't expect or remember (yes I have all the mannequins' spots at my local mall memorized)

@Call_Me_Godot
oh gosh. that'd be horrifying.
we had this porcelain doll that just kept coming back my grandmother gave us before she passed away. like my sister and i would leave it places and it would always return home. now i think it's somewhere in the attic - or we tried to give it away again, i can't quite remember. last christmas it made its way into the kitchen. i just hate them.

I once spent the night at a friend of my mother's house, and she prided herself in her vast porcelain doll collection. She had atleast 45-50 crammed into her bookcases and dresser.

Even worse, she was scared of the dark, so she'd put little fake candles behind them, which shadowed their facial features. I didn't sleep the whole night.

And the sad thing was, before we arrived, her Mom had told her that her Collectors Edition Chucky Doll needed to be put away, and she decided the best place for that was on the top shelf of her closet *chills*

I still get goosebumps...

And yeah, Chuck E. Cheese was no joke. Not only is there he man in costume, there is a mechanical Chuck that would blink and turn it's head...trust me you were deprived of nothing but a perverted rat, cardboard pizza, and the overwhelming stench of feet.

Make sure you go before you die okay? Lol Then tou will understand my slight phobia. Luckily for me, everyone in my family has passed the birthday party at Chuck's phase.
