Is My New Story Idea Too Overused?

I want to go through with this story idea but I'm scared that its so overused that it will be a dragged for the read.

Its mainly an idea of depression, but the girl isn't the depressed one. its the boy. There Is a bunch of deep suicidal thoughts throughout the story. You watch him fall into this deep abyss of depression and stuff. But I don't know if the suicidal part is too overused

depending on how the topic is written around and developed i don't think its overused.

most of the stories i've read on depression and mental illness and suicide seem to follow the same structure of character a has these feelings, character b notices and tries to make amends and then character a either goes through with said thoughts and feelings and takes their lives or for some reason falls in love with character b.

from your other stories i've read, i'm sure you're clever enough to come up with something that's unique and different, just don't fall into a cliche trap!
