Help! Please read!

My friend is reallt suicidal and she really wants to kill herself and no matter what I say or do, it's not helping and I don't know what to do.

Anyone, please help? I really don't want her to do anything..she's only 14.

Where are you from? Check out this link and encourage her to call.

I know you might feel like a bad friend for doing so but say something to her parents/guardian. If she's serious, they'll at least know.

My friend actually worked for a mental hospital and one of the first things they told her was you don't hear about a suicide, you find one. Ie, 99% of the time someone who's serious isn't going to tell you. Has she started trying to give people her stuff? Has she made any drastic appearance changes? Then you should definitely call someone. Otherwise she's simply looking for attention and the easiest thing to do is just be there for her and listen to what she has to say.

Sorry if I sound rude. I actually have a suocidal friend and an ex so I promise I'm being serious and not just being a bitch. I honestly had no clue either of them had tried overdosing till they came back from suicide watch in hospitals

you have a good point there; if someone wants to end their life they usually do so without wanting to effect or involve others. i don't think you sound rude. just realistic.

you should juat tell her parents to get her help or tell a teacher or prnceble

Thank you. I didn't want to sound insensitive /.\ There are rare cases where people WILL say something. my mom's friend had a son who came home from Iraq with PTSD and told his mom and his brother he was going to do it and did but that's the only story I know where someone said something and did. Most of my experiences (and I've had a few too many), the people don't say anything unless you ask them where they've been for the last week or two (which is when they come in with the whole "I've been in the psych ward" stuff).

Oh, but I like Brina's idea. If she's serious, she might get super pissed but if they take her for a psych eval, then she'll get the help she needs. If she's faking it, then she'll learn not to do that because all the fucking questions they ask make you regret even mentioning it O.O

Thank you all, I told the school counselor. She wasn't faking it because her mom caught her trying to drink bleach. She's being taken to a mental hospital but I was freaking out. Thank you again :)

Just really stressed out yunno? Finals week and then this. Luckily my dad is letting me stay home today. Thank you for asking though

No problems Hun :P I've been there. It's a freaky thing and a tricky situation. It's good that you got the day off though. Now you can try resetting yourself emotionally and mentally (if that makes sense?)
